Letter of invitation

Dear colleagues,

We are pleased to inform you that the 18th EMPIRICAL STUDIES IN PSYCHOLOGY (EIP12) conference will be held at the Faculty of Philosophy in Belgrade, Serbia, on February 10th and 11th 2012 (Friday and Saturday).

The conference is being organized by the Institute of psychology and Laboratory of experimental psychology at the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Belgrade. The conference programme will include plenary lectures, oral presentations (classified in appropriate sessions according to topics) and round table discussions.

Official languages of the conference are Serbian (former Serbo-Croatian language area) and English.

Abstracts submission is closed. Participation fee is 2000 dinars, and it can be paid on the very day of conference, during the registration. Students and unemployed persons do not have to pay participation fee.

We hope that we will meet again in February in Belgrade, and we send you our best wishes.

Abstract guidelines

  • Abstract should be between 1500 and 2500 characters long, including spaces (not including abstract title, authors’ names, affiliations and keywords).
  • Recommended font is Times New Roman, Latin keyboard, size 12
  • In abstracts authors should provide clearly defined research problem, methodology, main results and conclusions.
  • While presenting results, authors should provide values of statistical analysis which were used, that is, provide the value of a statistical test, degrees of freedom and significance level (for example, t=15.34, df=121, p<0.05).
  • At the end of an abstract, up to five keywords should be given.
  • Abstract should contain only text, without tables and graphs.
  • Authors should not give references, neither in an abstract nor at the end as a list.
  • One author can submit up to 3 abstracts, being credited as a first author for only two of them.

Abstract review

  • As in previous years, EIP12 abstracts will be reviewed. Abstracts will be forwarded to peer-reviewers, without author’s and coauthor’s name and affiliation.
  • Period from December 05th 2011 until December 30th 2011 is planned for review and resubmission of abstracts corrected according to the reviewers’ suggestions.
  • In order to provide reviews on time and leave enough time for you to correct your abstracts, we kindly ask you to respect the abstracts submission deadline.
  • Accepted abstracts will be printed in an Abstract book, which will be published before the conference itself.

Presentation guidelines

  • Conference rooms have a presentation computer and LCD. If authors wish, they may present from their own computers. We kindly ask you to bring the files for your presentation on a CD or USB.
  • Final conference programme will be available on the website www.empirijskaistrazivanja.org on January 1st 2012. In the programme you will be able to find the exact time and a conference room number for your presentation.
  • We kindly ask you to come in a conference room 5-10 minutes before the session starts in order to copy your files on the presentation computer and check if the presentation works as you planned (because of the software incompatibility issues and so on).
  • Oral presentations are limited to 15 minutes in total, or 10 minutes for presentation itself and 5 additional minutes reserved for questions and discussion.
